In my college there's a trolley in one of the hallways chained to a pipe with a reasonably expensive bike lock. I like to think that someone rides it in to college everyday...

I bought this frame at the herne hill jumble, built it this morning, to see if i like the geometry before stripping.

thanks eyebrows, look at the lug work a very good reason to strip and respray. Anyone here, buffed up steel to look like chrome and how good were the results, fancies the lugs to look like that red / white and chrome moyer in the porn section.

• #760
those lugs are similar to my armstrong's lugs.

My first fix - bike found in a pile of rubbish outside a friend's house... Cleaned up, new (budget) wheels, scavenged brakes, seat, spds from other bikes, ebayed brake levers and seatpost (it had a 26.4, that's a 26.2 and it's still very tight), 86bcd chainring from Spa Cycles. Looks like shit, but it gets me about...
Nb. yes, I know I should take the back brake off! All in good time! -

Skoota, that's a nice frame. Is it a track frame or a older road frame with younger forks?
Nice ;)

'We don't' care about the young forks'
I will be here all week.

Its an old track frame with slightly younger forks, the forks that came with it aren't that pretty and you could fit your shoe in the the clearance. Having said that with a repray they might look ok. I spoke to the guy and although he built it as a track frame he put mud guard eyelets on for weekend riding, "we all did it back then."

is that a grease port in the head-tube?it is a grease port, the bottom brack was like a pomade factory.
It's in bits again now, got some advice from carlos about how to do 1,678 coats of paint for $12!

Here's another picture of my track now that it's got the bars sorted out, I'm rather pleased with it. I still want to fit it with a Miche Supertype seat post but have realised the frame takes a weirdo sized 30mm seat post, which might complicate matters.
Sorry, didn't realise this picture would come out so titchy!

Bigger pic.

me: for some reason my friends call me scooter when I wear this hat
me bike: and before you ask, yes it is titanium.
might change the gearing to 48:18 so I can learn to skid stop, right now its 48:16. Apart from that its great
-
• #774
Is that titanium?
