ed, can't help you much with that decision. you know far more about bikes than I do.
Just make sure you don't buy a 'complete' bike and then end up changing every single part on it except for the frame. Thats what I usually end up doing. But still 220 seems ok for a good frame.
Make sure its your size. -

It's not the pursuit frame is it?
-
• #5
no, not that one like dt's, just a normal one.

These days £220 is quite cheap for anything with "track" "fixed" or "bling bling" in the title. I'd buy it, if only to annoy murtle and make up for the cheap bike I missed earlier.. :)

yeah, that was what i was thinking, it's a real track frame and if i dont need it i can always sell it... seller said it's only been used a few times on the track (the bike's in newport) sure someone here will want it if i dont? but to be honest i just finished building another bike (the beater of beaters) today :P

Well then it's really up to you.. if you don't have room don't buy it. Can't afford it, don't buy it. Have room, can afford, can use it, right size.. buy it.. if you want it. :)
Lots of help I am! Anyone got sleeping pills? -

If I had, do you think I would be on here right now?
-

Shit man! We gotta get some! I'll speak to my dealer..
"Boots oh Mr Boots!"

i'd pass ed. not a fan of the truvativ cranks after the bianchi. i'd hold out for a frame with character. as also said, you'll swap everything out anyway.
-
• #13
I would be careful as it might not be the owner of the bike asking for your money - Famous Ebay scam of contacting bidders who lost offering them the chance to buy - only it's not the seller contacting you - have you done a recent trojan/adware etc scan? Of course, i might be wrong!

I got a flite 100 frame of gumtree for 200.
I love it...but agree on the ratio.
I would buy it again

The good thing about the Flites are the frames, which are decent, solid and fun (they did use to also come with Sugino 75 cranks as well which was a really good deal). If you want a no frills but nice handling bike then the Flites are really decent. You can just buy the frames on their own for about 150 quid, which gives you some idea of what they're worth:
(Could be wrong - but I was always told the cheapo Spicer frames are the same as the Flite frames).
I'd double check that the maillard hubs are not french threaded before parting any cash for it.

maillard hubs are french and he knows the pitfalls, but actually has some french gears/ lockrings i believe

No worries! Just let me know
I'll be at Gruesome Twosome tomorrow, let's chat there...

Did you ever decide what to do with this?
I'm still trying to find a bike for my missus...

no, the guy never came back to me mate, sorry about it...
There was a KHS flite 100 on the bay, I got outbid but the winner didn't seem to want it now.
It's a full track bike minus saddle, stem and bars. so i'm paying for frame made of reynolds 520 tubing, truvativ crankset, cane creek headset, mavic SUP rims, maillard hubs (i know, not worth much)
seller sent me an offer to buy it off him for 220 notes, should I get it? what do you guys think?
