I think they come in a bunch of different configs.
I had the square taper ones, and they took my not insubstantial bulk in their stride without even a squeak. You can source them complete with a ShimaNO BB for a shade over forty notes, which must be a bargain. Better yet I can sell you a pair in donkey-cum cream with syphilis-purple barber poles. £800 to you, my colonial cousin.
Don't forget the chainring is dished. You can mount a standard ring indside the spider, though.
