hey, thanks: that's roughly what i was thinking, although it seems very much like a car route and could no doubt be much refined for cycling... a bit more direct ;-)
as to whoever: i'm sure that the graveyards are probably locked down at night, but that's no reason why not to visit them, i'm sure we'll be able to figure out something fun (trick or treating? apple-bobbing? or just plain grave-robbing??!). i think it's tommy(thebrick) who always comes up with the gmap-pedometer stuff so i shall do a "proper" map tomorrow, at least of the north london bits (as i don't know/go south that much). as for the alleycat: yeah, i'm a total beginner, what is it? racing down alleyways?? it would be great to fit that in, too.
