SECRETS AND DREAMS: Rakan
*Rakan is the grand master of Brick Lane Bike Polo. Photo by Tom Medwell.
Places I love… It’s hard to pin down, so I guess I’ll say – anywhere along the Thames, canals or little rivers you find in London. I think the presence of water creates a really nice atmosphere and whether semi-rural or densely urban you always find interesting buildings, nooks and crannies near water.
In the future… I guess that I continue to find the things I do exciting and stimulating. In a big picture sense – hmm – that in a collective sense people manage to establish for themselves a decent standard of living based on mutual solidarity in their everyday lives. OK – I hope to get better at making big generalising statements.
Play polo every Sunday after 2pm: Basketball Court, corner of Brick Lane/Shacklewell St, E2 7EG*
