Self n Mrs K are buying in Archway for £850/month on shared ownership.
Only one bedroom, but my point is the value of Chateau Kowalski is about £225k.
Might be worth a look.

How's that work? You pay £850 per month and after 2800 years own a £225k property?
I'd have some of that.. but they probably have rules about convicts buying bits of England?

If you're entitled to live here you probably qualify to buy.
Luckily my opinion doesn't count.
We have a standard mortgage on 25% of the purchase price, pay subsidised rent on the remainder.
Choice of properties is subject to varioous housing associations, but we've scored a flat in a Victorian conversion in a leafy side road.
I would advise that the scheme is both hamfisted and somewhat ponderous.
We've been trying to buy ours since March and it's now a bit fiasco shaped, mostly because I've been homeless since late July.

got a flat ! Unfortunately I am going to be a N1orthern Boy in about 3 weeks time.
Time to order the Guardian.... 8-)
But at least its a N1 with balcony, which will be the first flat of my life with balcony ! -

good luck, man. I just went through the same thing, dealing with BASTARD agents in W/SW london.
luckily we found a place in the end, in Richmond, right by the park, which i'm very excited about.tips - do not , under any circumstances, deal with James Anderson. 99 percent of all flats on Gumtree are agents anyway.
Chesterton had a nice 2 bed flat in barnes we almost took -they'll still have it, and they'll take 1300.
barnard marcus aren't too bad either, in terms of not having too many trumped up fees.
Anthony Roberts in Kew had a very fit agent girly who showed me around some places... -

yeah it was dreadful, I hope I stay of that market for a while now. g/f a bit grumpy though that its not a victorian conversion...
