OE products

  • Have just read a note on ebay advising that you avoid buying OE products.

    Wiggle describe them as

OE (Original Equipment) products have been bought from excess stock destined for bike manufacturers and as such they may not come in the original packaging or with instructions.
    Any thoughts?

  • Yeah, they don't have the packing. Big deal.
Sometimes they offer slightly different colour options for OEM stuff..

  • I've bought OE pedals and OE brakes. They're fine. I urge people to choose them over retail versions because of the reduced packaging. Save the planet and all that shite.

  • OE stuff is great.
It would only be dangerous if you were a bad mechanic.

  • Just make sure it's the same spec as the retail version.

ie it's not unusual for a retail stem to have titanium bolts, but the OE will have steel.

I bought an OE 105 brake from wiggle, and it came retail packaged with instructions etc.
