Ok so now this route has off road river rides, narrow ghetto alley ways, foot tunnels, massive docks, skyscrapers. What more do you want!
Still only 12 people!

When you get to the Royal Docks you can ride along the side - stay off the main roads round there, it ain't pretty!

hmmm the greenwich bit should be pretty crazy at night haha.. Not sure if I'll be able to make it so won't join the list until I know for sure!

Unxetas has already ridden this bit with me, but I think we'll be going a bit faster this time.
Bring lights, people. Nice bright lights.
If there aren't too many pedestrians, we'll take the really narrow bit between the river and the Naval college. Then through narrow alleys and back roads to this open aggregate yard (the only place that doesn't have a railing to stop you going swimming.
After that there are some nice wide smooth paths by the Dome where we can build up a bit of speed, then it's alleyways and roads. to the Woowich tunnel.
The aggregate yard is the worst bit.

stompy how off road is that section going to be...should i consider a change of tires? dont want to slipping and sliding and mending punctures all night.
Also MA3K I think the pathways im thinking of stay open as people access their houses from em. May cycle down em late one night this week to check -

I ride 23s and I can handle the small cobbled bit. The off road bit is short enough to walk if you feel unsure about it - that's what I do sometimes.
Apart from that it's all paved and quite smooth.

is the foot tunnel open all night?
-
• #111
heh.. we didn't get any flats going through it, but we did walk a couple small sections and we were going really slow. I'm sure most people will be fine!
-
• #112
so where is the main meeting point? just to confirm.
-
• #113
aint it the gypsy moth in greenwich by cutty sark
-
• #114
Greenwich and Woolwich foot tunnels are open all night, but the lifts won't be running.
Gypsy moth is right by the edge of Cutty Sark Gardens, just past Starbucks, and opposite M&S.

is this off-road malarkey going to be a problem?

peejay78 is this off-road malarkey going to be a problem?
No.
Apart from one small section, it's all paved and fenced off so no one falls in the river.

Here's most of the south river route.
See, roads. paved roads. apart from one tiny bit between 1 and 2 miles.

Brilliant i'm up for it.
That ride will be excellent - all the pretty lights on the river and then running through the foot tunnels
(and up the stairs!)BUT ONLY ON ONE CONDITION:
You all have to PROMISE that you won't act like total pussies and back out if it rains again.
Also can we do it like 8 or 9pm so there's time for drinks and to go elsewhere afters? (it's my birthday
and i'll go a dancin if i wanna!) -
• #119
I think we agreed on a 9pm start, It was in the original title of the thread.
I promise nothing - but the weather for Saturday is light showers and Sunday is sunny, so extrapolation points to a good night.
Are you bringing cake?
-
• #120
it's my birthday....and i'll cry if i want too, cry if i want too
(damn what it with cheesy 50's and 60's songs that get stuck in your head)

great, thanks. so just meet up at 9.p.m. on saturday? i'm wondering which bar was decided on, and where it is exactly. i predict not being able to find it. i haven't yet found anything i've set out to so i might not make it, but i'll try. i just arrived in london a week ago.
Between TB and Narrow st it's only st. james Park that's locked at 8.30 or sunset.
