  • I fitted these a coupla weeks ago with the hot soapy water method and they went on in about 30 seconds... And they were a VERY tight fit...

    *Love *the packaging on these...

  • I got mine on by dipping them in boiling water first to expand the rubber. Turned out a lot easier than I though.

  • the petrol method was quick!have the grips got holes in the ends? if not make a small hole for the air to come out!

  • the soyo ones do!

  • hai! soyotastic!!!!!!!

  • I used lighterfuel to get my champ grips on and off.
if you need to get some really far down there when removing,
i used a chopstick which is obviously NJS.

  • Any of the london shops stocking soyo or champ grips at the moment?

i am not paying £7.50 shipping from planet x

  • soap and water easy peasy

  • paul from freshtripe has heaps in diff colours as well ;)

  • Yep, I've got cheapo red/white/black ones for £7.50, white soyo's for £11.50 + nice pink or purple champs for £12.50.

    £2.50 P&P for 1-2 pairs (recorded).

  • damn, i thought i was using my super smarts when i used a few zip-ties down the grip... oh well.

  • had to remove one of the buggers last night to put on a quill stem, took fucking ages of sweating and swearing,
but saw this thread when i was having a fag break, about to do the washing up, threw the grip in the hot soapy water, smoked fag, pushed the grip on in 5 mins.....thanks :o)

  • was that a euphamism or something?! :p

  • what about Brick lane, Brixton, cavendish etc - any of them got em?

  • cavendish, have some in certain colours, got my 4mm ones from hubjub

  • anyone want to swap orange oury's for black soyo's?

  • jv Any of the london shops stocking soyo or champ grips at the moment?

Saw some in Brixton this morning, various different colours - sorry, didn't clock the price

  • Just fitted some grips to my track bike - the hot soapy water tip worked a treat. Thanks.

  • Only drawback to soapy water is on Cr Mo bars.

    They go rusty inside.

  • Good point - I'll have to get the gf's hair dryer on them tonight.

  • 'swhy lighter fuel is the best.

  • Small amount of warm water. No soap. 2 days to dry. 2 minute job, tops. Perfect.

  • wd40!

  • Takes longer to dry properly.

  • gt85!
