Just ordered a new Specialized Propero. That brand has not seemed to suit my bonce in the past, but I discovered that the annoying lump digging into my right side Parieto-Temporal suture thingy disappears if I angle the helmet forward a couple of degrees - which is actually a more protective position.
I would've been wearing it yesterday if Wiggle hadn't posted the wrong item :(
Regarding things like Herne Hill where you might need occasional helmet use - if anyone wants an old white Giro Eclipse in medium (55-60cm), that's missing the front pad/velcro (but I have other Giro stick on pads to experiment with), it's yours for a bottle of Fullers London Porter or Marstons Old Empire. It's the 2000 model (my helmet before last), but never suffered any impacts. Good mojo included for free :)
