  • Yeah, I've got a Cyclops Fluid2, which replaced a rim-driven thing that was no good for high-resistance stuff.

The Cyclops is great - nice 'road feel' with progressive resistance the faster you ride to mimic drag, quiet, stable, blah, blah. I did a winter of mashing stuff a couple of winters ago to try to overcome my abysmal lack of power whilst seated, and it kind of worked; but it's good for spinny stuff in a low gear as well, and out-of-the-saddle if you raise the front wheel a bit. I've even used it without the roller touching the back wheel and spun up to over 240rpm which would've been fun for the downstairs neighbours.

Are you thinking of getting a turbo whatsit then?
