Gold chains

  • as a final little touch for my build, i am looking at getting a gold chain. i popped into condor today and asked for one and they said no. apparently the gold chains they stock have too much flex and are for proper track riding....

any experience with condor gold chains [thou obviously they aren't made by condor] or ones from any other shops in london? suitable for road riding?

  • I have used KMC gold ss-specific chains on my bike for a while with no issues whatsoever.

Thisis the one I use, the 510. Long enough for a proper bike, even though a lot of them are advertised as BMX chains.

  • vertex do one, its 30 squid from brixton cycles.
have no experience with it apart from people saying they are good chains, though relatively expensive.

  • Hey, you want gold chains??? Come and see me fool!

  • kmc 510 should be more than strong enough.. I'd run it with no hesitation!

  • £30 for a chain?! I'd give it a miss. That'd get me 6 Z510's :D

  • fc9k £30 for a chain?! I'd give it a miss. That'd get me 6 Z510's :D

    exactly

z510's are just a fiver from kiwi

  • i got a kmc chain for £15, and when i took it out of the box it was golden. it was a pleasant surprise.

  • thanks for the tips guys. kmc get the vote now as like most people i have overindulged elsewhere and will make some pointless savings here.

parkers do it for 4.50, which ain't bad
