benanza Damn it, you got me! Ha ha. Nah 'fraid not, in the Pret instead. Not sure which is better.
Well regardless, I congratulate you on getting your ice cream van into the Pret.

Haa ha ha. I gotta admit though that I don't actually work in the van, I sit on top and scream merry go round tunes when we drive around, to attract custom. It's tough but at least I get to work outside ;-)

So my bike's been build at BLB, just waiting for my CycleScheme voucher to come through to pick it up!
• 53cm Bio frame painted black (£350 with forks)
• Black velocity wheels.
• Flip/flop hub
• Black chainset
• Gold chain
• Black short bars
• Titainium Shimano 105 Brake caliper
• Silver metal pedals with straps
• Black seat post
• Can't remember the saddle make.Don't ask anymore, cause I don't know until I pick it up!
I'll change a few things once I get used to riding it. Might change to bullhorn's if I find the short bars too difficult at first. It's also got cheap grips on at the mo! So I'll find something nice later. Look forward to learning more about gearing and otherstuff!
I've got it covered on my house insurance (direct line) for theft away from the house and have an Abus Granit Lock 1000/100, plus a Abus D-lock for protection. Thinking of Datatagging it as well.
Looks great, is really light and is just how I imagine it. Can't wait to take it for a spin.
Come on CycleScheme, I'm off on holiday next friday!!!!!!
I'll take some pictures as soon as I pick it up!

About £900! Ouch!
but if you go for a cheaper frame and wheels, it'll drop quite a bit!
My frame and forks were £350.

• #106
what is a 'Bio' frame?
-
• #107
do you know what make the flip flop hub is?
-
• #108
unfortunately I'm a newbie! So have no idea! I'll get all the details when I eventually pick it up!
-
• #109
£900 seams pretty steep - hope those parts are decent ones
-
• #110
yeah, mind you don't get skanked wappingwarrior.
-
• #111
my condor wasn't much more and that got me some decent parts (dura-ace,deda,miche,goldtec,open-pro,izumi)
-
• #112
lol, somebody go to the shop with him.
-
• #113
iw as going to say, you can get a condor for £150 less.
-
• #114
Find out exactly which parts you are getting.
Google them for prices.
Add them.

MrSmith what is a 'Bio' frame?
Isn't it a Dolan?
I think anyone buying one ought to have a punch up with Terry Dolan just to prove they are worthy of the bike

RPM [quote]MrSmith what is a 'Bio' frame?

Where? I thought they all had sensible names? Oh, wait, "ARC" maybe?
-
• #118
just a guess, I heard they had cheap Dolan frames.
but whatever it is, for £350 it should be reasonably good.I say SHOULD be.

Well I should find out soon! CycleScheme invoice my company late friday. Boss will pay it on Monday morning, so voucher should be on it's way soon!
After picking out the frame and wheels, it was already £550! 10% to build it and the rest of the bits soon mount up! £30 saddle, £20 leaver, £40 caliper, £24 tyres, £14 tubes, £18 chain, £40 chainset, £15 bars, £24 pedals, £15 straps, £15 seatpost, £25 headset, plus grips, wheel tape and you've got your price!
As for the frame, think it was something begining with C! It was slim, light, black and the right size. Love it as soon as I was shown it! Whether it's worth £350, that's something I wouldn't really know, but it ticked all my boxes!
I'm sure I could have spent the money better, but as a newbie, I'm not really sure on everything yet! Didn't actually get too much help from this thread! I'd asked about what bits I should be looking for, but nobody really said 'get this' or 'don't get this' relating to the parts. I've gone with BLB and price.
I've got a frame I like and good wheels! Everything else can be replace over the life of the bike to get it where I want it, as I learn more!
More info and pics when I get it!
Remember, make sure critizism is contructive, otherwise it's wasted!!!!!

dude. it would help if your spec list was a bit more specific i.e. miche, deda, EAI, brooks, etc rather than black, gold, silver, black, !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
:-)
-
• #121
If you buy F&F + all the bits from a bike shop, is it normal to pay another 10% to have it built up? BJ, for example, don't charge anything.

Normally no charge for building up, buy cyclescheme charge, so it's it done through them, they charge the 10%, if it's cash or card, then they don't
Anyway, pictures coming soon!
