LMAO

hehe.. I think today's bmx kids are the perfect victim for hipster marketing, it was only a matter of time before companies would figure that out and make a killing..
That said, I'd definately ride an fbm frame and if I win the lottery, I'll be buying the profile hubs for sure!

Man I hate the word 'hipster' because its such a bad word. It's like trying to classify something that has hundreds of sub-genres. And being hip is cool, but it always seems to be used in a derogetary way...
Plus I wear skinny jeans, because I like skinny jeans and its just what I'm into, I'm not ashamed to say I want to fit in around the people I hang around with and the places I go. I didn't even realise fixed was 'cool' until a few weeks ago and I've been into it for a while now.
I'm not ranting, it's just I keep reading the word hipster and being offended on the inside for some reason, partly because I don't really understand whats wrong with it (maybe theres not and I'm imagining it all... This is probably the case).

shit I had written such a good reply and clicked a link on this page so it got deleted..
Jake, I think hipster is exactly that, a person who likes to follow current trends and tries to "fit in".. In my opinion that's not necessarily a bad thing! It's great that you're willing to admit you do try to fit in with your surroundings, but I guess the people who get offended by being called hipster are those who refuse to admit they're following a trend, looking just like anybody else but still thinking they're the shit and oh so unique.
girls jeans are so 2005 though.. move on dude! :D

Ah but move on to what? Bootcuts aren't back in yet. the next thing will be skirts though, trust.
It's just when I read hipster it kinda is a good thing, BUT at the same time its almost a bad thing because its not cool to be cool anymore, if you get me. So that being cool isn't cool anymore because it's cool, and it's cool not to be cool... hmmm.

fuck what other people say.
buy jeans are not good for (a lot of) cycling. that's a fact.

I wouldn't ride my bmx on anything else.. except cords if I'm not riding too hard. Jeans are the only thing that'll last a few nasty falls on a bmx, and you never ever get your arse on the seat anyway!

This whole 'hipster' thing is an American thing, most definately. I don't think you can apply it here very well.
I don't even really know what one is...i have a vague idea ... something about skinny jeans, innit? According to that vid, hipsters wear slogan t-shirts? Slogan t-shirts are lame.If you have the body for skinny jeans, then fair play. Why aren't people complaining about fatties in low cut tops?
or reebok classics.

as a bmx'er myself, I agree.
but I was talking about riding track bikes and racers, you know, "adults" bikes ;)

Get them while you can, they're the next plimsole. Again, trust.

yeah alright, but jeans are so practical - what else can you wear below the waist?
Lycra - probably best but you can only use it cycling, hardly anyone can pull it off, can't wear it off the bike.
Camo/Dickies - Fine, but not good for warmth, too baggy
Leather - lets not go there
Jeans - Cheap, warm, tough, looks fine off the bikeMost people ride for less than half an hour anyway, going from shoreditch to st johns wood or whatever. Also you can wear lycra under the jeans for that extra softness.

Naahhhhh. Maybe in 10 years, there has to be at least a 20 year period before things become retro cool. See how the 80's are quite hot right now?
Personally i think 'decade that fashion forgot', but whatever floats your boat.

I find skinny jeans insanely comfortable to ride in, not proper Levi jeans, they chafe, but softer cheaper ones are pretty much lycra, what with them being skin tight 'n all. Only sucks when it rains. Or riding through a pack of chavs.

anything made of 100% heavyweight cotton doesn't breathe as well as other fibres, makes you sweaty, is heavy.
when wet it takes ages to dry ..jeans, cheap?
not my bag anyway. army surplus trousers are £3, polyester/mix and you can cut them down to whatever. ride all day/work all day. that's what I prefer for cycling.
Jeans are for posh nights out. (I bought some Levis in 2001 which are still going strong)

aidan!

Oh - i don't get sweaty legs or feet...i only sweat on my upper back/shoulders.
jeans - cheap yes, you can get 501's for a tenner in lots of places in camden, and camden ain't cheap! (not new - new levi's cost a FORTUNE).
you can get some jeans which are a blend, say, 80% cotton denim, 18% polyester and 2% elastane. I don't know how much they are though, help me out jake, where do you shop for jeans?

thing is..
I'm 35.
that's middle aged.
middle aged men and jeans?
there's three on TV right now.
it's "Top Gear"
I rest my case.

Well it's funny actually, I shop anywhere for jeans. I tend to just wear one pair. At the moment I'm sporting a lovely slightly stretchy black pair, I got them from ebay for £30 and they're lovely and soft, ooooh darling.
I'm watching Top Gear too, but nothing compares to that arctic drive to the North Pole though, since I've seen that, nothing compares. I was totally mesmerised.

ok, i will search...any chance he was a high profile seller?
rpm - 35's not middle aged - people live till 100 don't you know.

And in 50 years the life expectancy will probably be 120 or something. and 50 years from then it may be 180 and 50 years from that 230...
I've figured the key to eternal life.
Don't know if anyone else has already posted this but being a BMXer and Fixie rider I found this pretty amusing.

Also my buddy owns the Volume bike featured and did a pretty cool ride the other night.
