  • Probably best to place a bid on a bicycle maintenance book too.

  • Out of curiosity, how easy was it to unscrew that?

  • ahhh i understand now!! i had to take that plastic thing out!! LOL

i thought i only had to unscew the headset thingy!

  • after i undid the allen bolt at the top - it came out without a problem... no wonder it was not moving! i feel so stupid!

    thanks guys for helping out!

  • nice bars - had half an eye on 'em myself...

tee hee.. you grumpy old roadie! :P

  • so I'm toooo curious. Did you get your own headset back together?
I can't wait till you want to change your cranks!! ;-)

Gotta say though, it is ALWAYS nice to hear a boy ask for directions. Always. Congrats on your new bike.

  • roxy: where's the nearest pub? that kinda thing? ;)

do u expect him to undo the chainring bolts to get the cranks out?

  • Tris Two types:

if it's an expander type; unscrew the top bolt til it's sticking out about 1cm, then wack it with a hammer (not too hard), that forces the expander out the bottom of the stem - you should now be able to remove it.

if it's a wedge type, then it may have become stuck in there (they should come loose straight away). Turn it upside-down spray some Plus gas, WD40, etc, leave it over night, then try again.

Put a block of wood ontop of the allen bolt though. You don't wanna scrath anything up.

  • BringMeMyFix This sprang to mind...

    :)
