  • i think pretty soon. i was in there recently and two guys were chatting about it.

  • normally september sees the launch of the new product season.

don't ask me why, it just does.

all I know is, I used to get all my mtb stuff in october, once it was discounted and "last years"

  • does no one else think cycling the big wheels would be fun?

  • Ok, well, i bought that 20 percent-off voucher from that Guy, so i'm good to go, baby.

I have Condor Credit, and I'm prepared to use it.

voucher? what voucher? share the love...

    Same here !

Also winter is 'discount land™' in the world of MTB.

  • provenrad I can see a fortuitous situation here!

    check out this : http://www.cyclechat.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=2736

Guy 'selling' a £650 condor credit note for 20% off - get IN there my son!

    If you can wait...

    :-)

    Mashton - THIS voucher!

contacted the guy, he called Condormen, they transferred my name to the voucher.

just got to wait for the 2008 models now!

  • If I was you, I'd get up there and try to score an 05 or 06 pista with decent wheels.

  • How quickly doth the budget increase and the parameters change..

  • yes and no, Hippy, yes and no.

with this voucher, a stock Pista will cost me 570 - exactly what the Touche was going to cost with the setapost etc.

    So, i win.

the fact that i'll probably end up pimping it until it floats like Mister Smith's is neither here, nor is it there.

  • True that. BUY BUY BUY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • don't fuck it, ride it

  • I've had a Pearson since May. I bought it on the back of reading the Cycling Plus review and also because they seemed to have a quick turnaround time from ordering to getting the bike. As Winston said above it's less oriented towards pure city riding than some other fixed offerings, but I can't say I ever wish it was more twitchy. It's also a very nice bike for doing longer rides-- I suppose because they were designed to be suitable for use as winter training bikes. You can specify different components and bullhorn bars if you like. One nice thing about them is that you don't see that many of them around town.

  • I had the same conundrum only 3 months ago. Wanted Pista 1st, Pearson 2nd but as I was buying through ride to work scheme I had to get from Evans.
Paddy Wagon just didn't feel right and the Lemond was as rare as Hens Teeth. So opted for the Genessis and I don't regret it at all

The frame, fork and wheels are as hard as nails, drive train has been sweet. Bars and Stem etc fine.
You will need to change the tyres and brakes though, the tyres are too thin for London and puncture daily. Brakes need new pads before leaving the shop.

Hope I haven't confused you further!

  • cyclesurgery has the genesis flyer for £399...in the window.

  • Nice one Nimhbus!

I saw that ad couple of days ago and thought of my fixie peeps here and how they may benefit...

Less of a CONdor then? ;-)

But seriously I'm happy to hear you decided to take advantage - FFS 20% off! I think that makes the weeks of waiting bearable....

  • whichever condor you buy (07/08) go and get measured up now so you will be near the front of the build queue when the frames come in. (and get your colour choice, i had to take a rebuilt shop floor bike to get the blue i wanted)

  • good advice, Mnsr. Smeeth, I will get in there next week. However, I'm quite preapred for an 8 week wait, so at least i won't be too fucked off when it takes ten weeks!

  • i'm pretty curious to se the 08 range, i tell you that. some new colour choices would be welcome, so di on't end up as a mashton/smith copyist.

  • too late

    Smithenger

  • i just need to work on the beard

  • beards are for winners

  • Ok, latest update. Pista ordered, will be an 08, so i'll have to wait even longer. But, waiting is all part of the Condor experience, i reckon.

I'm going to pimp the cunt off it.

you'l need more than £700 then!

  • i know. don't worry, the budget has inflated somewhat. partly because the enormous wait time enables one to spread the payments.

plus, i got that £650 credit note for 520 -which really helps.
