The Kona Paddy Wagon is unfairly overlooked.
Dedaccia frame, decent wheels, mostly branded finishing kit.
I miss mine.

MrSmith the pearson is allluminumium which is the work of the devil.

pearson has longer wheelbase and wider cleareances....eseentially a road bike with track dropouts, will be more comfortable and forgiving....
Genesis with it's shorter wheelbas will be more "twitchy"...for urban, Central London use I'd go for the latter, weaving through cars will be easier and faster!

MrSmith Nimhbus i paid £1000 for my condor but i did go semi-pimp. expensive bars, dura-ace brake etc.
all i can say is it was worth every penny and although i have limited experience of riding other bikes the ride is much better than a heavy 80's/90's conversion due to the weight and carbon bits.depends on conversion ;) . last night i just built up an old reynolds 531 frame with random wheels and bits (thanks jon), not taking any care and i'm surprised how light it is (easier than my bianchi pista, but that has deep v's)

How about i sell you a lovely columbus frame/forks, with campag mirage bb and headset for the price of the pearson frame. then you can build it up however you want ;) . tonnes more character.

Just to add another into the mix: Cyclesurgery in Holborn has a Willier Pista in the window. I know nothing about it but it looks kind of lovely and there aren't many of them around.
Might be worth some google time?
It's £699 and is aluminium, so probably doesn't fit your needs. but I've been meaning to mention it for a while now...

For $750 you could go all out and get something ridiculous, like:

I would.
Sorry. -

Yeah, i saw the Wilier before, but discounted it on grounds of Price. however, now the price is creeping up and up... who knows.
Mashton, i really liked your Condor -was that the standard build? you toild me it cost you just under 700. it seemed much lighter than poor old Mouse's heavy, cumbersome 06 model...

I've recently cycled past a Pearson and a Fillmore - both look like very good off-the-peg choices.

Fillmore, is a really solid bike. However, they sold all of them a few months back nad people were having troubles getting them back in.

It's the '07 model and it was just over £700, not under, IIRC :-). It's all standard, except for an upgrade on the wheelset to CXP33s. Of course, it has now got a new saddle, but that is mainly to do with aesthetics.
Are you coming on Sunday? You can take her for a longer spin if you want.

(aprt from, obviously, the day after i buy my full price 07 pista)
-

the 2008 catalogue has been out for a couple months, so i would presume very shortly.
