  • bollocks. clearly they are for slapping one's cock over, hence the presence of the 'Bike Porn' thread here, and the endless discussions about how our bikes look, and how to improve said looks

  • you were happy to ride a £99 catalogue drug dealer pavement bike so just buy something and shut up.

  • Heh - says cock slapper numero uno

( and i wouldn't say i was happy to ride it, exactly)

I like this forum for the rides that get organised (and I never go on) and the tech stuff.

wanking over njs shit and colours and lugs and quills is not for me.
I am a brutal man who abuses his equipment.

  • i like it for the mutual masturbation, and the barely concealed homosexuality

  • who's concealing half bare homosexuals?

that sounds perverted, not to mention illegal

  • you can get NJS certified reacharounds now, Dude, that shit's really off the hook

  • it might be off the hook but never off the peg!

  • You saying choose life reminded me of this....

  • so who shall i buy from biddle or cycle sense ? either got a better reputation?

  • turns out only biddle have my size...

think after about six months of farting about I might actually get myself a fixed

  • Biddle are pretty new, don't think they have much of a reputation.. but I bought my bike from them with no problems, it was ready to ship the day I placed the order.. I had to ask them to wait, cause I wouldn't be home, but I asked for it to be delivered on a Tuesday and indeed it was :)

  • photoben You saying choose life reminded me of this....

that made me laugh so much it hurts....

  • bought a 52cm from biddle not sure what brakes and levers to get.. wouldn't bother but i live on a hill runs straight to the sea in brighton

  • photoben You saying choose life reminded me of this....

Sums it up quite well :)

  • Arrived from biddle today, pretty chuffed for not much dough, had a ride round fixed without breaks along brighton seafront but bottled after a while and put a simano 105 on the front.

Gonna attempt ditchling beacon on it this weekend

good luck mate, I always avoid the Beacon! What gearing you running??

  • i'm attempting it... If I get round the first corner I'm gonna be chuffed!

  • Yeah, you'll need to gear down for the Beacon or you'll blow your knees out/have to push all the way up. I've almost got up riding 48x18 (but after riding all the way from london I was knackerd). Probably needs a 46x18 or a little lighter.

  • Sounds about right pip, 42x16 is just hard for me. I always cheat and nip down the country lane to the Old London Road ;)

  • I'm actually probably not gonna get very far on my standard gearing just being overly optimistic.

Are there many london-by-sea-FGSS-ers? or you all down on the way from town

  • So today I finalised all my eBay sales and have a means to get £275 by the weekend so I head along to biddlebikes.com to find that they've put the price of the Fuji Track back from £275 inc. P+P to £305 inc. P+P. So I get my charmer hat on and send them a little email. I'll paraphrase "Lower the price of the bike or I'll not buy it. I'm Scottish so you'd better believe me". I get an email back a few hours later from Karl saying that the price was only lowered to beat a competitor (probably cyclesense) and when cyclesense sold out they put the price back up. Karl nicely put the price back down to £275 for me to make my purchase. If anyone wants a cheap production bike tonight is the night to buy it.

So to cut a long story short I now have a Fuji Track on order from biddlebikes.com. I'm sure you're all thoroughly bored of my questions about where to find bikes and how to convert bikes but that comes to an end tonight. Now I just need to ask loads of questions about brake levers, cables, calipers and cogs. Fun fun fun!

  • quite glad mine arrived last week from biddle.

Already thinking the wheels are gonna need replacing, other than that i've been really chuffed. Bunged a shimano 105 on front seems to have done the trick.

  • i have one at home, great starter; after i got my bob jackson i turned it into a miscegenated, ugly, fast and light flatbar.

by the way - recommend goldfinger lever and 105 brake.

  • I thought the stock bar was 31.8mm though so a goldfinger wont fit. I was thinking of the Tektro lever.
