  • woffle One things on the whole cycle2work thing - avoid Halfords.

I work for a small firm (<75 UK employees) and I'm trying to guide our HR bod through signing us up with someone half decent. With Halfords it seems that the bike you buy is limited by scheme size with only those with more than 100 people signing up getting anything outside Halfords stock range. I think this a relatively recent change.

We looked at Velorution (sp?) and a couple of others 'open-source' schemes but it looks like we're signing up with Evans on the promise that we can get whatever we want - I'm after a folding commuter so it looks like a Bike Friday or Airnimal are going to be the best bets (there's a fixed Airnimal that I quite fancy copying)...

Where I work (local authority) we just had to find the bike we wanted at any dealer that was taking part in the scheme. There's no necessity to 'sign-up' with any one dealer for everyone. You can find a national list of participating shops on the bike2work site.
