velocity boy Shit. This is this Sunday!
Route, we need a route confirmed.
Has anyone had a chance to ride the city bit yet?
Do we really need a route for this?
We know where we're starting (Greyhound just off High St ken, see 1st post.), we know where we're ending (bike polo court, top of Brick Lane) and most of us know central London pretty damn well.
Why don't we just take a CM type approach and wend our way past as many sights / cool streets as possible? Definitely take in the places listed in the first post and then see where the fancy takes us...
Of course, this won't help if peopleare planning to hook up with us en route, but it isn't exactly far from Kensington to Shoreditch so no real need for anyone to join half way.
As for start time, what about 1pm?

1pm sounds grand. I'll update the first post.
We can make up the route so long as someone knows their way around the city bit to Brick Lane (I'm a bit fuzzy around there).

I'm sure we'll muddle through, I usually do; and I thought that getting lost in the city is de-rigeur anyway? On a Sunday it is a pleasure to be lost there - no traffic and loads of fun :-)
And if all else fails, there is always Google Maps.

Sounds like fun. I think I'll come along to this. Haven't really hung out with fixed riders in London so will be good opportunity to talk people I spend my time nodding and smiling at simply because they ride a similar bike. I used to do the same with people wearing Vans or Stussy back in the late eighties.
Anyway, anyone fancy meeting up in South London to head over to Kensington --- Camberwell/Stockwell/Brixton area?

The idea is to ride to the polo. We should get there by 2:30 at the absolute latest.

My missus would really like to come, but she's worried she's going to get a metaphorical stoning because she only has a £100 Decathlon cheapie and not a fixie...
Of course, I've assured her this won't happen...
Will it?
-
• #123
It won't happen. All are welcome. It's a welcoming, open, easy ride... not a race or one-upmanship thing.
-
• #124
Oh, I was kind of looking forward to riding behind her, hissing and pulling her hair...
That's ruined my Sunday
