  • ffub That'll be the lockring tool ;P

    Love the graphic though!

As above, I don't have a lock ring tool, I just tapped the freewheel/BB loose with a hammer and screwdriver, I honestly did not use anything else other than a monkey wrench, hammer and screwdriver to take the whole thing apart.

  • aidan "firey liquid of terror".....genius!

    :)

Years ago I got a large splash on my foot I just thought I would carry on and wipe it off in second when I had finished covering this door I was stripping.

Little did I know the standard Nitromors + skin procedure - run ! as fast as you can humanly run - just run !!! the faster you get to rapidly running water the smaller the smoking burning hole in your foot will be.

    Oh the pain !

No way on god's green earth should you use that stuff without goggles on, one little misplaced flick of the application brush could seriously damage or loose you your sight in one or both eyes, they even warn you against anything other than lightly dabbing the stuff on in case you get a splash.

  • wYs the orange and white looks well nice!

im gonna be making a neon shopper for polo very soon.

Soon their number shall be legion !

How about a Shopper race across London ?

  • Shopper-Cat:
Point-to-point race from Exmouth Market to the N1 Centre to Liverpool Street to Oxford Circus to...

  • ffub You'd need a pretty large wrench for the headset though - I use an old one I found in my late grandad's toolbox with "King Dick" written on it!

I still have some King Dick stuff left over from my father's navy tools (from the 50s and 60s)

people are impressed when you wield a "King Dick"!

we (work) also have some chisels from WW1 which are still in daily use.

  • rg37 that is going to quality!!! i like the gfx, how you gonna get them on the frame i got some decal paper and it was shit..or you going to hand paint it???

I might cut the design in paper and use it as a mask to spray it on.

rg37 i keep seeing shoppers and wondering what sort of beast it would make!!

A badass beast, good for pub action where you don't want your posh bike stolen.

  • htay i love the seat.

£15 squid ! got it at my local bike shop, I think it is a BMX seat.

    MA3K Shopper-Cat:
Point-to-point race from Exmouth Market to the N1 Centre to Liverpool Street to Oxford Circus to...

    I'm good for that !

  • the-smiling-buddha

Come on then, I'll race ya

    Any time big boy.

  • TheBrick(Tommy) Hammer + punch or screw driver.

    bingo !

  • nobody has typed shopenger yet so i thought i would preempt the inevitable

  • .

  • dicki well everything else the the -enger postfix eventually so ......

You sentence make it no sense.

  • dicki's a nonsensenger didn't u realise

  • Fakenshopper bastards.

probably never been in a real shop in your lives, have you?

  • Looking good, Leeww.
Though I'm a little sad that you did away with that badass so-ugly-it's-awesome can-opener chainguard...or have you? can't tell-- did you remove if the braze on for it?

  • Cajeta Looking good, Leeww.

    Gone !

  • I liked the chain guard too.

    I shall grieve its passing.

  • I've just got me girl a Dawes shopper bike for her birthday. One of the handlebar grips is loose, what is best to fix it? Being hard plastic grips I guess the usual hairspray trick won't work, should I use Areldite?

Yes glue them on, or cut them off and buy a set of new rubber, foam grips.

  • tallsam I liked the chain guard too.

    I shall grieve its passing.

It seems this bike is a repository for not only cycling history but also people's emotional stability, I torn that guard off like a child with a poorly wrapped Christmas present.

    It is now a weapon.

    I crush history.

    Lee :)
