i find a simple brassiere works a treat...it allows my under arm to breath and stops the sweaty back syndrome

and a basque in winter.
although I find going the whole hog with stockings rather tedious, chaffs most irregularly with one's rubber waders

I got a Montane T-shirt in sportwool (merino/poly mix) - quick drying like a synthetic, but unsmelly like merino. It was about £25 incl p&p from ebay.
If you're going for the bra option, probably best to go strapless to avoid uncomfortable interfacing with your rucksack/courier back strap :)

I have images of a brassiere with cups of sweat hanging off me.. why did you do this to me?!

softshell jackets are good for when it's too warm for merino baselayer and goretex jacket. i have one with removable sleeves which helps if it get s too hot.

What about a hoodie?
http://www.headhoods.com/Printed faces on the side, and when the hood is down it will look normal.
Someone on here had the same idea... just found this site though so thought I should post it somewhere, and this thread seems like a good place.

Those hoodies are class.. It's been a while since I've owned a hoodie. I might have to change that.

I have 4 old cycling tops that I wear. I generally just wear them as is but if I'm feeling like being "fashionable" I just wear a t-shirt over the top.

What do you mean??? Cycling jerseys ARE fashionable..
Oh, whoops, thought I was on the roadiescumforum. My bad :P

I find it quite funny when I see all the roadies in Melbourne with their up to the minute cycling jerseys like extras from a scene of the Tour de France.
Too much money to spend those guys.

hippy you should design a cycling top that looks like a pink workshirt. i'm sure it'll sell heaps down your cycle through old compton st everyday.

So you know what all the current trade team jerseys look like then? Sounds like we've spotted a closet roadie.. :P
I was a Melbourne roadie and I always wore shop kit or plain black. Still do, in fact, save for one jersey I bought at Herne Hill jumble. -

jerseys are good quality and it's run by two old giffers who're really into their cycling,
they shut up shop to go to the giro and all that, always been reaaly helpful when i've talked to them. not so keen on wearing 'support your local pharmacy' racing tops so these are good for me.
did you check out thje raleigh-ti shirt hippy, matches you're bike

I've seen it now.. hello mr. credit card..
Cycling into work in a normal t-shirt under a plastic mac is a sweatfest. An unnecessary sweatfest.
Can anyone reccomend a good(not too expensive) t-shirt or jersey or anything that isn't super-skinnyperson tight and won't just hold on to all my lovely sweat and be awful to put on for going home. I'd also be using it in just my general cycling travels all over the gaff.
