Aside from my BMX I wouldn't ride a bike with only one brake (well a freewheel bike anyway). Rear brake is used less than front obviously but stopping on gravel or other loose surfaces can give you a bad case of front wheel skid if you don't distribute your weight properly so both brakes is way way better.
