haha I can't help but laugh at how easily that wheel completely died.. Are all 700c wheels that weak? Now I'm scared!

I don't think it was an open-pro on goldtec.
It probably split because it weighs in at 500 grams. -

I remember the commentator at the time saying that they were using wheels designed to fold in a crash, not really sure how they stop it folding up over a pothole or bump but it didn't tear the skin off the dog or obviously hurt it like you would expect going at that speed. Not sure if he chatting shit or what.

haaa :)
What Benanza says about the wheels folding in a crash makes sense. They have crumple zones in cars/trains/buses to absorb the energy of a crash. Prevents injury to the rider and unlike us they have loads of bikes on standby.
It's probably made of carbon or something exotic that weighs nothing but has less strength than a corn flake :P

There's a dead squirrel I ride past every morning. Gradually gets more and more squashed every day by cars.
Poor squirrel :(

you should take a series of photos, like that sam taylor wood thing in the tate where the bowl of fruit slowly decomposes.

I hit a bird of some sort in the car once. Went back (on dual carriadgeway so had to do a full loop) to see if it was ok. But it had buggered off. So can't have been that bad. Felt bad though.

Well if we add cars to the mix then I've hit quite a few birds and a kangaroo (not in London that one, funnily enough)

hussy, i am the one and same.
good to hear from you. have wondered how the old steamroller worked out - hope you had no problems getting the new wheel sorted with the miche hub. hope your lady still has it and has clocked up many a happy mile.
you will find this a good forum and there are plenty of rides - social and otherwise - arranged so do come along to some and will no doubt see you there/then.
i am no longer in the east end having been seduced by the bright lights of sarf london.
all the best with building up th merckx (i thought you were after a Fetish or Bareknuckle or something back when?).
i assume it will be fixed.all the best, jonny
Was he participating in a joke? If I hit an epileptic nun with a leg brace, I'd be looking out for an Englishman, Irishman & Scotsman walking into a pub.
