Object17 Brakes?
Yeah, they're those things that let me corner faster than brakeless riders.. :P
(Not actually true, can't corner to save my life, but I'm not taking any brakeless shit :P)

Here's a nice resource for brake calipers, weights, prices and stuff..

P00bags! The Mavics have no quick release. :(
I (heart) my Shimano brake's QR lever. -
• #31
Campy (nor the Mavic it seems) brakes don't have quick-release mechs on the brakes. Campy build the release mechanism into the hoods, which makes it harder to run a mixed system.
-
• #32
I know, but I have old Campy levers (until I change them as well) that don't have a QR so I'd like a QR on the calipers.

Personal choices. TBH I ride more safely without a brake as I pay a lot more attention due to the more-probable-death-scenarios.

black shimano 105's on sale £39 pairCheers, there's some on ebay ending in a few days, currently at £13.
I'm actually lusting after these babies: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=280146672799&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=018
Those or the Zero Gravity.. but at £250 a pair!!! Um.. yeah..
I've decided to throw a sh1tload of cash at the Soma and swap out the bits I hate for nicer, black parts. Fsck it.. I never buy nice parts.. why not? -
• #37
Just bought these off ebay.. couldn't justify £100+ on cam brakes just to be different and decided to risk the extra charges of going to the USA for them:
-
• #38
how much for the black 105 on ebay?? that looks niiice that...
-
• #39
hippy Want something bling too if at all possible...
Those don't look very bling hippy compared to others on 'ere. I love the skeleton brakes myself.
-
• #40
£30 versus £100+ for the Skeletons and I refuse to buy Campag anyway. I wanted a QR on the brake so that cut my options.
I'm still thinking about a set of these, just for pure w@nk value/to annoy winston ;)

mashton seemed disappointed with the lack of exotic brake caliper posts emanating from my post-droid recently... I hope this redresses the situation..
THM-Carbones showed off its new Fibula brakeset which is claimed to weigh under 100g per pair and include a clever linkage mechanism to magnify power.

Now you hipsters can 'pretend' to ride brakeless...
-
• #43
Just noticed this thread, havn't read all of it.
I've got a pair of Modolo speedy in black, if you're still looking -
• #44
If going retro try these Modolo Pros
-
• #45
No, not retro. I wanted Zero G but the cost was silly so I ended up just getting black 105s and colouring in the lettering with a texta. :)
-
• #46
I know, but I have old Campy levers.
Aha! You're beginning to see the light...
It's Campag BTW... -
• #47
The only reason I've not fucked those stupid Camfag levers off is they are taped over and I'm not about to rip off perfect bar tape to replace them.
-
• #48
You
love them, you slag... -
• #49
I actually want some of those carbon Record levers.. unless Shimano or SRAM have black levers I can use instead. The campg ones I have are pox.

you gotta new build chunks?
lol
but you will need them on your scorpion trike recumbent Mr object!
