i stupidly bent my front rim falling off my bike and landed on the wheel. arup tried his best to repair it but it's still 3-4mm out, and it needs uneven spoke tension to get it as true as possible.
since it's for my track bike (my best bike) i'm thinking it's worth getting a rebuild thus i have a perfect wheel and save the hub flanges from uneven tension. the original rim is an MA3 in black laced radially onto a miche large flange. my choices are:
rebuild with open pro/CXP33, with new dt spokes
rebuild with MA3, old spokes
obviously option 1 is going to cost me well over 60quid, option 2 is cheaper by about 30quid.
only thing is MA3's have a reputation for being weak, although i'm not sure if an open pro would have survived the same knock. a CXP33 will probably be fine...
since i've finished my winter/beater bike, i won't be using the wheel for polo anymore, just general riding and avoiding potholes, and down at herne hill (before i can afford another set of wheels - tubs)... would the MA3 suffice?
