asm Hippy - what do you mean by techno?
I listen to Aphex Twin & Squarepusher and I refer to them as techno.
I have yet to find anything more insane than either venetian snares or a live set by a japanese duo called Ruins. That live album made me nearly sick when I turned it up loud.
Ed that DTL stuff is ok!I was using 'techno' as a catchall for electronic music. But I have a love of techno and trance and psy and a little d&b and a little house and some cheese and happy hard and gabber and.. yeah lots.
I have some Aphex and Squarepusher stuff but they're a bit noisy for me. Venetian Snares? Ruins? -

^ props to the hip hop. Would recommend Spankrock to all those who've not heard it, also Breakin Bread's compilation is very good.
Mainly 6 Music for me (http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music). Good mixture of good music old & new cross the board (they are a bit weak on dance & hip hop but they do soul, funk & reggae which is great). Lee Perry did a 2 hour take over a couple of weeks ago which was brilliant, Sonic Youth were on Nemone's show on Weds, Pavement and Pixies are core to the playlist - can't fault it really.

^^ totally mate, i like craig charles funk and soul show too. Missed the Lee Perry take over, damn!

F*ck loads of graphic designers on this site and since that seems to be the core listenership I'm no doubt preaching to the converted...
Re your recommendations: was gutted when Rawkus died, don't think there's been much good / interesting hip hop since (bar Def Jux)

Cheers Scott. Out of touch on the hip hop front, will check this out & welcome any other recommendations. (I'm into Pharcyde, Mos Def, BBoys, Wu Tang, Gang Starr type of stuff).

Lately:
soiled matress and the springs- lounge jazz played by old punk kids from NY
Pissed Jeans- Like Flipper, Jesus Lizard and late Black Flag, total feedback heaven
Fucked Up- 18 minute epic punk song with piano and strings, who would have thought it sounded so good.
Mika Miko- 5 young girls from LA playing the best punk/ riot girrrl/ post punk noise ever
No Age- shoegaze meets no wave meets punk, from LABut at the end of the day as soon as i put on Wu-Tang 36 chambers i forget it all and listen to that album over and over. In 20 years time ill play this to my kids and this record will be even more of a classic than it already is.
