  • grove street suckas!

  • Splat.

  • Wow! I didn't know Spinergy did a hubless version of their Rev-X wheel...

  • like i said - that's a spinergy (heard lots of stories about them breaking)

I think aerospokes are different in that they aren't fully carbon and are built much more robustly

  • hence the weight

  • I know all parts can fail. I just don't trust carbon/composites.

  • S.E has some quality night spots as well.

  • haaa that place is where its at! fa shizzel!

  • Even the Bikesnob has noted that that Pista. (Halesworth Road, just off Loampit Vale)

  • Course we have the tube, its called the Jubilee Line, Vato!

  • All I have to say is:

This was taken in San Francisco so you can view it as SF's response to 'SF Style'.

  • Never mind San Fran, you better watch out for the next big thing... Flintstones stylie!

  • PeterD, lemme know how u come out from ur hunt, i gave optima a call and they are going to come back to me tomorrow to lemme know of the costs, time of delivery etc...

wouldnt a rear one of those babies be better? why front? :O

  • I kind of like the look of them on the front. if i can only get hold of a rear id be happy though. Ill give you a shout when i get on to it.

  • FixAxioN y front? :O

    that's the SF style innit

  • Conan i went into cavendish cycles a few weeks ago and there was a track bike hangin from the ceiling with a white front aerospoke. Dunno if it was for sale, give em a call.

That'll be Andy, the Fixed Gear London guy's Nagasawa, saw it again the other day when I was checkin' EVERY bike shop in London for a rear 36h low flange hub... Nearly creamed myself when I first saw that thing at the bike shop near Southwark tube, he was rockin' the full NJS back then... Chopped risers now, right?
THAT is a SWEET, SWEET ride! I am not worthy... ;-)

  • The reason you mainly see Aerospoke fronts being rocked is that when run as a rear (with all their weight) are much harder to stop when riding brakeless. The hubs are a separate component from the wheels which adds another point of failure, and they had a design issue where the lockrings kept slipping (this is all vague internet whispering though). Plus they're a lot of money per wheel.

  • they do look very cool on the rear when you skid though, especially when it's white

  • They look cool... Full stop... Function sometime takes a back seat... Innit? ;-)

  • scott not scot so nothing to do with performance then?.....you're not bothered if it's front or rear,so long as you have one?

    you firing this at me?
stylistically they look good. Could only rate their performance if i tried em out first...which would be nice.
    beef anyone?

  • okay boss

  • Tried and tested the rear aerospoke for over 3 months.. looks good, but had a few problems with slippage from the hub, got it sorted in the end. But it was a major headache in the begining. If you ride brakeless give the wheel a good test before you venture out on a long journey. Aerospoke do them in white straight from the their factory but cost a lot more.
