Cold Water Music has got to be one of the greatest albums ever. Hippy - what do you mean by techno?

I listen to Aphex Twin & Squarepusher and I refer to them as techno.

I have yet to find anything more insane than either venetian snares or a live set by a japanese duo called Ruins. That live album made me nearly sick when I turned it up loud.

Ed that DTL stuff is ok!

Also, any four tet fans around?

I would so far as to say that Rossz Csillag Allat Szuletett by the Venetian Snares is the greatest electronica album of all time!

asm: i like four tet too but won't say i'm a fan... i'm a little bit too slutty in my musical tastes to be a fan of anyone :P
techno could be quite a large umbrella i'd file aphex / squarepusher under "IDM"
techno for me is more like 4/4 beats. one of the definitive labels would be tresor. a bit more up to date stuff would be tech house stuff like booka shade. i heard the trapeze label is well worth checking out too.

whilst venetian snares is great i'm personally not a big fan of them. i prefer stuff to be a bit more fun and witty like kid606... for pure amen mashing fun i would say it's hard to beat soundmurderer. i really dig his twisted ragga jungle!

for pure beat madness and boundary pushing beat programming/sampling autechre is quite no match for anyone. this masterpiece from 2002 has yet to be beaten!

yeah im a big fan of aim....i went to see him at shepards bush the other day...it was amazing!...i have rae and christian's sleepwalking album which is great but i dont know of thier mixtape,was it realesed on grand central?

Yaeh it was released on Grand Central. Its a really good mix if your into Aim, Rae & Christian, Mr Scruff etc. The previous Caribou album I really like. Reminds me of the Early Beta Band stuff. I haven't had chance to listen to his new one yet. I may purchase it today.
