  • hmm, dont think i know her

  • she a creative lass, hahaha see what i did there

  • Build Does anyone know that place in Deptford that does resprays and decals? I was told but forgot the name.

Witcomb Cycles 25 Tanners hill, Deptford do frames, modifications and can organise restorations/resprays etc. Is this the place you're thinking of?

  • iirc witcomb send them to Vaz tho for actual spraying...

  • Hmm how easy is it taking off braze-ons yourself? What tools to use etc?

Probably going to go to armourtex for painting because its just down the road, but if I can't take the braze-ons off I might as well go to Vaz....

  • ive been told that its not the best idea to do it your self, you could fuck it up....leave it to the pro's :)

  • whats the paint work on andy's 3rensho called,its all glittery......anyone know??

  • he might do

  • metallic red maybe?

  • aidan ive been told that its not the best idea to do it your self, you could fuck it up....leave it to the pro's :)

just found a couple of threads on bike forums, sounds quite scary.

Is there anywhere in north London which will take stuff off? Or am i best going all the way back to SE london?

  • theres nout rong with south east

  • re. braze ons: I just want to remove some cable guides off the top tube - I was thinking about having a go at them with a dremel tool, but I'm having second thoughts now!
rakan: which threads were you referring to?

  • Depends how precious you are about your frame. I did Vegemite (old Apollo) with an angle grinder.
Once the bulk of the metal is gone, change to a file and just file off the gold braze stuff trying to keep it even.
    Powdercoat
    List on FGG
Sell to fund an ill-fated trip to pink shirt hell

  • Taking off braze-ons is no biggie. Hacksaw for the worst bits, then file + sandpaper etc to get it down flat. I took the mech hanger, lever bosses and cable guides off my peugeot in an hour or two.

  • Do Armourtex do detailed painting, or just one colour all over? Might be getting a Harry Hall 65 frame, and would like some detail highlights?

  • i dont know but im going to pick up my frame from them somepoint today or tomrrow i will ask for you if u havnt called them already

  • afaik armourtex are a bike specialist place and don't know much about frames so therefore I would assume they dont do detail.

  • btw im going to Vaz tomorrow night before 6pm, im going with a friend of mine, we hoping to get to see the colors they offer etc..

if anyone wants me to take some pics of the samples, lemme know :D

  • yeah i would....can you ask if they do glitter paint? thats if no one else knows...

  • What is turn around time on a frame at Armourtex?

  • i could be completly wrong but im sure i read that renan(lpg) had his frame painted there and he got it back within 48 hours..

  • I thought I read that too!!! Got some gear lugs to file off, but then it's ready to go!

  • im thinking of going there, what colour are you going for?

  • when are you guys going there? I never got round to go to Vaz, but was hoping i could get to go this week after work!

i just ordered some white/black wheels - so im thinking maybe a light color would be nice, pink? baby blue? baby something lol

  • I restored a 1967 Lambretta 2 years back and had it painted up in a lush pale mint and white colour, and like the idea of using the same green for the frame, and then doing the forks black, as all my parts are black?
