I heard something funny about Global warming a while ago. Technically what everyone wants is less CO2, but there are ways of doing that other than stopping forests getting cut down. You'd lock away an awful lot of carbon if you tarmacced over an entire country, and you're also doing the world a favour by keeping a large library.
Not that i'm advocating tarmaccing over a country! I just think that's kinda funny.
