  • I think someone on C+ described the Langster as the Coldplay of fixed. What in the hell would that make the London Langster?

Ah come on theres nowt wrong with a Lancaster as a ready to ride fixed gear / single speed, it's just the design side of the London lancster that is a bit cheap and tacky.

scott not scot surely a fixed with two brakes is designed for someone who is a bit less experienced....so wouldn't the grips be better on the flats, near the brakes that they're gonna be clinging onto for dear life when that number 7 bus swings out in front of em?

True about the positiong of the levers and grips. I think the lancasters tend to role out of the shop in single speed so they have to have two brakes by law.

  • yep agreed.

  • ok, I'm probably "pariahzing" myself here, but I think it would look just fine without decals.. Or even just a white spray over the frame lol.. Much better than the old brown thing they had. right?

  • yeah i think so.....the people that designed the decals obviously have no idea and should be sacked

  • unxetas ok, I'm probably "pariahzing" myself here, but I think it would look just fine without decals.. Or even just a white spray over the frame lol.. Much better than the old brown thing they had. right?

Yep I think that is what most people don't like about all the tacky decals.

  • it's a shame ............was thinking of getting mine white powdercoated until i saw this ..........grrrrrrrr!!!

  • I agree. The red white and blue colouring aint so bad, it's the terrible decals on the frame. They're bordering on patronising. Only a tourist would ever buy anything with that "London" imagary on, so why is a bike different. It's definitely not for people who are actually in London.

I'd also like to see an image of Ken Livingtone's face on the front tyre.

  • ffub

I'd also like to see an image of Ken Livingtone's face on the front tyre.

And Boris Johnson on the back?

  • It should come supplied with a comedy trooping-the-colour-bearskin style helmet too.

  • Oi! cheeky.

  • :)

  • scott not scot and how come the new york one has a taxi cab theme and not the stars and stripes?.....if the london one had a black cab theme it woulda looked dope...black everything...maybe with a bit of vomit on the seat to make it even more authentic!

    Best idea yet!

One thing is for sure, we all know about he lancaster and are all talking about it and you know what they say, any publicity is good ...

  • scott not scot when johnny stockbroker decides to flip the wheel round and think "i wonder what this cog does"....:)

..he'll end up on this forum asking questions about chainline

(without looking or even knowing about Sheldon)

  • filthy filthy bike. when designing this, someone probably said "ill give 50 quid to whoever can design the ugliest bike" as a joke.

  • It's so horrible. I kind of wish that the Indy review was bad, so that people don't go out and actually buy them.

haha, I admit I did ask about chainline within a few of my first posts here but I certainly knew about Sheldon (it was how I found out about fixed wheel!)

  • I have no grievance with langsters - cheapest way to get into riding fixed if you're not mechanically minded - but that new one is just a joke! I saw it in a local bike shop in Newcastle. I actually CANNOT believe they've written "God Save The Queen" on one of the chainstays.

Not only that, but they have a map of the underground on it as well. Yes it's a symbol of London, but my god what are they thinking! Let's stick a picture of the ONLY aspect of London that this bike is going to have absolutely connection to! Yeah that'll be a good idea. Bloody americans. God it makes me angry.

  • yes it isssssssssssssssssssssss

  • The London Langster? That's a Condor Pista, isn't it??

  • The condor pista would be if it was half as expensive : )

  • asm yes it isssssssssssssssssssssss

    haaaaaaaaa

  • I was gonna reserve judgement until I saw one in real life, but i did on the way home today.
    I don't like 'em.
The new normal one looks alright though. Still, who am I to judge, being a Langsterian myself? It's still about the rider, but that's a 'kin ugly bike.
Is it me or have Langster threads become like the LGFSS equivalent of RLJ/helmet chats?!

  • Mouse The London Langster? That's a Condor Pista, isn't it??

    Yep it sure is...

    Maybe time for a re-spray.
