• yeah i may pay the extra for the aluminium as they look a little less bling and worth stealing.
ive got a black stem atm but dont mind it for a while may get a ug stem at some time and just make a shim out of inner tube or coke can?!
yeah im going to get the 123' the 127's are horrible!

• kowalski Don't forget yer shim if you're gonna use the UG with 123s.

yeah cheers got that covered. although brixton claim on their site that they have the ug with 25.4 clamp

• Might be worth checking if it comes in different versions, then.

Hubjub list it as 26mm, IIRC.

only comes in 26 according to the nitto catalogue pdf i saw, but it could have been old...

nae bother a shim will do me fine

• jv
joe_b i have fairy hands as my workmates call them!
im ordering the bars from japan as they only come to £24 with postage(45 was about the cheapest i could find in the u.k),
so im gonna go for the 38's to be safe incase the 36's are a pain. its not much difference and i think having a bit more room for my hands on the top will be better.
thanks fr the replies:)

less to do with big/small hands, more to do with shoulder width imo. are you getting cromo or alu? i hope you dont get stung by customs mate, thats the problem with ordering outside the eu £24 with shipping is bloody good though, can you post up the link where you're getting em from?

cheers
normally, yeah, shoulder width is key. but with the track bars you need also to worry about the space on the tops because the sweep is so dramatic.

• cheers scott thats well helpful. im gonna grab myself the 38's as i hardly ever ride at night and in the winter ill probably get some knogs as they are a bit tiny:)

thanks

• OMG they do a 37cm bar what am i gonna do now!
maybe order all three?

• oh sheet i dont ride brakeless but i have a tiny odyssey monolever?
i dont know whether the bugger will fit on now? since when has buying handlebars become so difficult!
you dont have a pic of your 38's do you? i can only find a pic of 36's and they are so ridiculously narrow!

• Mate - get 38's. It's only 1cm each side difference and it'll help if you've got brakes.

• sweet.u reckon i can fit a small lever on ok and have enough room for my fairy hands?

• Nice - guess you don't have to clean it when it gets muddy then :)

• Scott, why such huge clearance on the front forks?

• jonaent (Jon) Scott, why such huge clearance on the front forks?

thats the way they make those brooklyns. was horrified to find out if i took the front brake off my surly steamroller i'd be faced with a similar canyon, albeit not as big.

• it just upsets me for some reason

• thanks for putting the picsup.
im going to order the alu ones tonight and treat myself to a UG stem aswell
i think!
prob get a really short stem 80MM because i think mine is far too long

• joe_b thanks for putting the picsup.

sorry i've come into this abit late.
But I had a similar dilema and went for 123 cromos in 38, I run a single front brake and a ITM 25.4 quill stem.
I found they felt strange at first but i came from narrow risers, so at first I felt a touch too stretched out. I haven't done any longish rides since they've been on, but imagine that I'd get numb hands a bit more than before, just because the way the bars are angled away slightly.
It's really hard to tell, untill you've got them on, but I wouldn't go narrower than 38's IMO.
if you want to have a look then give me a shout, or i can take some photo's if it'd help.

• jonaent, Any chance of putting a date on the news items on the site. It's kinda weird reading "just in" when you have no idea when it was written.
