the-smiling-buddha two chains, one soaking in oil, the other on the bike, when the chain gets noisy, I remove it & drop it in a bowl of degreaser, take the new chain wipe off the excess oil, fit it, then lube it up with a dry lube, that way the internals are oil and the externals are shiney

do you mean the ordinary 3-in-1 sort of oil that comes in a rectangular tin with a long nipple?
