  • Depends how steep the climb is..

  • are there that many freewheelers here anyway?

  • I'm a singlespeeder. Only because I bought a singlespeed hub thinking I could thread a cog on, then I learnt that you need a lockring thread after I had built the wheels! :)

Although tomorrow I'm getting the train upto London to buy rims/cog/lockring/spokes for my goldtec hub :)

  • le car are there that many freewheelers here anyway?

There's gotta be a few. Poll!

Out with the loose legged landlubbers!

give 'em the lash, get 'em on the plank there!

Boatswain Hippy, assemble these men to take their punishment, dammit

  • What the hell did you call me?!?! ;-)

  • boatswain or bosun noun a warrant officer in the navy, or the foreman of a crew, who is in charge of a ship's lifeboats, rigging, sails, etc and its maintenance.

  • Arrr! Now you'll be handin' over ye gold and yar 3rensho! Arrr!

  • Since we've all agreed we prefer "fixed wheel", how about changing "londonfgss.com" to "londonfwss.com" as well?

  • All? What all? Fixed Gear is the only way.

  • OK, all except you then :-)

  • I ride singlespeed. fixed wheels so far have only knocked me out and fucked my shoulder, which is still fucked (after 2 WHOLE WEEKS) damn i'm impatient. havent ridden a bike in a week! that's the longest i've been off a bike about 4 months. and it has toe overlap, which scares me a lot!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! can you buy forks that have different angles? yeah i could buy smaller toeclips but i think i need some consumer therapy. the nintendo DS didnt do it.

  • Fair enough single speed and fixed gear are quite different things. But fixed gear and fixed wheel?!!? Am I missing something important here or is this a debate on semantics?
    Meh!

  • Isn't this site another sort of son-of-fixed-gear-gallery? I'm well aware of the semantics, but FG seems to be the norm in contemporary parlance, and I'm happy to stick with it.

Come to think of it, I reckon it's simply referred to as 'fixed' in conversation most of the time.

  • asm, your accident probably knocked your senses off you... how did you come to the hypothesis that a DS could compare to riding fixed? :P
obviously you know better now ;)

but the DS did alleviate the pain at least didn't it?

yeah you can get forks with more rake (the bend at the forks) but i would suggest you get used to toe overlap, it's not that hard and you will appreciate the tighter geometry when you get used to it.

  • Single Speed Dahon

(until I can find someone to source me a 130mm White Industries ENO hub in black)

same here, sod all differences and keep pedalling fellas.

  • pokemon diamond is brilliant. but the bike in it has 2 gears! THAT pissed me off.

haha, get well soon back on the saddle and u wont have to be pissed off at that kind of thing again. you'll be racing roadies who's got... 30 gears. for now try counting the number of teeth you don't need.

    52 + 30 + 12 + 13 + 14 + 16 + 17 + 18 + 19 + 20 + 21 = 232
