Have you read the london bike messenger association's FAQ?
Carry the tools you need, drink plenty of fluids, have fun... and enjoy getting lost for the first week or so.
You may also want to try the http://www.movingtargetzine.com forum, lot more messengers there.

Bill, you have a number of broken links on that FAQ page.
On the couriers you recommend the following are broken links:
MPC Logistics,
Holborn Globe Trotters,
Mach 1,
Go BetweensJust thought you might want to know.
-
• #15
It appears Mach1 is working for me now (although not in Firefox, strangely). The others are definitely broken links though.

Not me! I am not responsible for the LBMA web-site (anymore).
You could always try googling for the phone numbers. Or the yellow pages.

didn't he mean googling for the phone numbers of the courier companies?
-
• #19
Yeah, but someone mentioned broken links on the LBMA site.

well, it wasnt that bad at all, i spent the morning finding out how to use the radio and the palm piler thing, then started going around the main places that use the company, cant really complain, except the bag is so old and heavy and didnt have a nice strap so it kinda dug in, also the palm piler thing and the radio were looped over my shoulders in such a way that they kinda dug in aswell. after about 2 i did a couple of actual runs. all in all it wasnt too bad at all, although i did get lost a couple of times.

sounds like you earnt about a fiver at Excel rates.....

I didn't need the numbers. I was just letting you know.

• #23
winston, the rates there are ridiculus, but if i wasnt doing that then id have no money and id probably just be wasting my holiday, at least this way i can make a little bit of money and learn my way around london, slightly.

• #24
I wish more people had your attitude.
a bit of work never hurt anyone!
-
• #25
fair enough, I worked there myself and wish I'd moved on quicker after "using" them to get some experience....unfortunately it's the wrong time of year to do that....
i thought id do some couriering over the holidays to get some moolah, does anyone know anything about them? a guy i know used to work for them and hes the one that gave me their number so they cant be too bad. so even if you dont know anything about them, does any one have any useful tips for couriering, i start tomorow.
