  • as some of you know through "the hippy vine" been busy entertaining a young lady, had to go and "meet the parents" for a bbq on saturday (otherwise would have done dunwich ;^)
it turns out her father is an veteran, keen cyclist and bike collector
12 to be exact, all custom built for him,

    his favorite ride Holdsworth

my girls pink condor, a nice Cinelli, and a nice Mercian

a custom built Condor for his 50th birthday, witcomb and another mercian
a close up of the Condors loverly lugs
he had 5 others, a Colnago all with engraved groupset ti parts
an Holdworth someone took off all the braze-ons, which i tried to pursuade him to convert to fixed....which he might have to.
spent about 3 hours chatting to him, ignoring newly aquired g/f.
    had a good day........

  • did she? jk :P

  • Cool. Looks nice. You should hang on to her. lol.

  • Marry her.

P.S. That's a piss-weak excuse for not riding DD ya big blouse. I'm gonna use that tenner from Scott to buy you a back bone :P

  • Does she have a sister ? ;)

  • na, gotta brother though...................

  • Damn

No chance her olds have to down size and get rid of those beauties?

  • shit man, all i can see is an awesome selection of nice fixies. maybe you should sabotage his collection when he is away some time. you will have the added benefit of the fact he will never talk to you again. yee haa

  • They're way too nice to be converted! The lugs on that green condor are neat.

  • ffub They're way too nice to be converted! The lugs on that green condor are neat.

yeah, the lugs are lovely. and you are probably right they are generally all a bit too nice to be converted. though i don't like to think of bikes as museum pieces. i like to think of them out there, clocking up the miles. i'd fix every single one of them.

  • Build an ENO (white industries) wheel up and you have the harry potter power to run fixed with vertical dropout frames.. wowa woowah!

  • hippy Build an ENO (white industries) wheel up and you have the harry potter power to run fixed with vertical dropout frames.. wowa woowah!

most of those bikes have probably got the necessary horizontal dropouts anyway, but yes hippy, i wouldn't hesitate to get the ENO hub out for those that haven't

  • C...Ci........C....Cin......Cinelli.

    Yum.

  • he's also got a holdsworth without any braze-ons, that he knows i have my evil greedy eyes on........

  • 31trum he's also got a holdsworth without any braze-ons, that he knows i have my evil greedy eyes on........

don't let him see those evil greedy eyes where his daughter's concerned. with a stable like that you should have an extra impetus to keep everyone sweet
