  • edmundane anyone got a spare pair of steel forks for 700c?
would love chrome but sthg cheap will do.

will swap for you name it.

are you still after some forks?
If your headset is for a threaded steerer, and 26.4mm=1 inch, which I think it does, then I've got a rather fetching pair of lilac-ish forks originally with an early 90s 531 frame- decent quality but can't guarantee the forks are also 531. Can tell you the rake and steerer tube length once I get home. Not exactly chrome but they work. Drilled for caliper.
If you're interested what have you got to swap?

  • skyway tuff 2 white 5 spoke front wheel going just bought a pair and have well used but in good mechanical condition front wheel

I have a chrome set of forks that I have been wanting to replace with a pair of lilac-ish forks, as I have a rather lilac ish bike to put them on. 1" steerer as per the other set. Perhaps we could do some kind of 3 way swop? Depends how desparate you are for chrome really...

  • 3 way swap wow that sounds great.
yes it's 1 inch threaded... what was i thinking...

ok so stonster can have nat's lilac forks and i can have stonster's chrome forks... and for you nat, i've got quite a few bits and bobs lying around, it's better if you tell me what you have in mind and see if i've got some... if not would you accept cash or beer for the same value?

yeah stonster how long is the steerer? i need it to be at least 160mm.

  • i have some brand new sheriff star chain tensioners.
    In silver

  • edmundane 3 way swap wow that sounds great.

Grand. There's 210 mm of steerer tube on the lilac forks which should be enough. I've just put a wheel in them and they're tracking about 7 mm to the right. I have access to a frame bending tool (and an experienced mechanic to check what I'm doing) so can get them straight for you Stonster, but understand if you'd rather not. Steel so should be ok, and obviously I clean them and give a thorough inspection by eye and by tapping to check they're sound afterwards.
If you're both cool to go ahead then Eddmundane I'd be up for any of the following (with a cash injection if necessary):
Front/ Rear (120mm) hub, ideally high flange; Pedals of any description (that spin and will take clips and straps); 700c rim/ tyre; 27.2 mm seatpost, prererably with at least 25cm of useable length; Pista bars; Anything else you care to suggest; Cheers- I'm away for the weekend but about next week to make a swap.

  • edmundane 3 way swap wow that sounds great.

I've been away for the weekend and not back till tonight. When I get back then I'll measure the steerer length on my forks and let you know. I'll be keen to swop if you can get the other pair straightened...

Ok, great. My steerer is 170mm. Nat, let us know how you get on straightening

  • wondering if any one has any cranks and/or 48t

  • whoops 48t chain ring,

    cranks more important

    cheers

  • right looks like the ball's starting to roll.

sounds good stonster, can't wait to see it!
nat, i'll send u a list of stuff i've got...

  • turd, I have some campagnolo cranks.. it has 2 rings, 42t and a bigger one that I didn't count. I'm sure you'd be able to use it with just one though? It's in pretty good shape.. If you want I'll try to get some pics.

  • Got a Selle Italia Flite (2005 model) - mainly indoor use. In great condition: very superficial scuff on one edge, and the logos are faded. My physiology/position seems to have shifted, so I'm trying other options.

Can deliver, and would trade for bottle of Ardbeg 10yr, or Laphroaig 'Quarter Cask' or 10yr - there's reasonable deals in the supermarkets.

Possibly open to other suggestions. Oh, it's like this:

    Flite (non-2007 model)
