  • outsude pub down by the river, anywhere between putney or chiswick really

  • I'm also halfway into a bottle of wine. Enjoying today's TdF stage thanks to Sky+.

nice going - there and back? how long did it take?

  • ya old smoothie - better not be a KFC bargain bucket neither

  • Yeah, club run today shagged me and now the gf's lining up for her turn so.. err.. pass..
Wait until after mid-week when I'm really fscked off with work and I might reconsider.

  • Went with a friend and his son. We cycled from just outside the M25 to Cambridge. I cycled back to Chis on my own. Took me all day...though we stopped for lunch and variously along the way...came in at just over 120 miles. Its quite a good ride actually...not too hilly and the countryside is very pretty.

Good Dunwich Dynamo training :-) Looking forward to it!

  • mareeoh and I were talking about doing this some time after DD, when we've got free time.

  • I should have the route on GPS...though I'd want to make some minor modifications to avoid the crappy footpaths. I'll share with whoever wants it once I've cleaned it up.

Oh yeah...there's plenty of really nice pubs with gardens along the way. It makes a good ride.

  • The Bell & Crown down on Strand on the Green in Chiswick is pretty nice. Right on the river too.

There's a couple of nice pubs down near the river next to the Budweiser Brewery near Chiswick Bridge too.

And a couple of nice pubs down next to Putney Bridge.

  • JimmyP: Footpaths?

  • It was the British Heart Foundation thingy...well the outward journey was. It was generally fine but included these detours for rest/food stops on some strange sort of dirt tracks and grass paths. Fine if you are riding your mountain bike/hybrid things but terrible for 23mm tyres on a fixie. Uncomfortable and, in places, a bit dangerous. Needless to say, I didn't use them on the way back.
