i think a Richmond Park Event like this would be good :
We all meet in the Park, probably one sunny evening around 6pm would be best.
We set up camp by Roehampton Cafe, with Beers, food, music etc.
Then, We run Time Trials round a smallish lap - Suggest this one, it's fast, good fun, and half of it has no cars :
URL for this route is: http://www.gmap-pedometer.com/?r=1159649
So, we have someone there with a stop-watch etc, and this way people can turn up as and when , do their lap, then just hang out and drink beer while others do theirs.
Some kind of prize or pot for the winner.I think it sounds like an interesting variation on a group ride. thoughts?

funny just did this tour today
If I show up I make sure none of you guys gets last...I am slow and my ratio is quite long for that one hilly bit, but be well up for it for funs sake
If you think about some cool amazingly fast and dangerous alley cat race in NYC, I would be that fat black cat in that grannys
window sleeping...
are you looking for a waterboy ? 8-)P.S.: me is bayswatered

31trum is too busy shagging to respond but he's around the corner from me.
I've also spotted, in the last week, a different fixer near Ealing every day! Who are you all?! -

yeah, i often ride most of that route. we really need to get the west london thing happening, soon!
It seems there's a pocket of riders based out West, and as we keep riding over to the East to do stuff it seems a little silly that we aren't doing some stuff in our own neighbourhood.
So this discussion is for that. To find out who's West, and get stuff going around where we live too.
So far we have (alphabetical order):
velocity boy - Kew Bridge
hippy - West Ealing
nimhbus - Barnes
wayne_f14 - Putney
A suggestion has been to set up regular Richmond Park rides once a week.
Geographical epicentre of all of places is roughly Chiswick.
So... who else is in this neck of the woods?
