  • Failed a doping test. Not T Mobile's year.

Apparently the main German broadcaster has suspended coverage of the Tour and will only resume if the B sample is clear.

Is this not a slightly odd approach? Cyclist cheats, punish all fans.

  • Remove the coverage will hurt the sponsors. Hurting the sponsors is the best way of pressurizing the teams and riders to cut out the doping.

  • i don't think it is up to the media to act as judge. should just be reporting facts.

True but how often do the media shy away from judging? Not very often!

  • If it wasn't for the media coverage the TdF would be a small provincial event with little money and small prizes. Of course they'll get involved, they pretty much invented the way the TdF is now.

  • Pah. All media is bent.

  • photoben Pah. All media is bent.

Particularly the sainted BBC. Fraudulent phone-ins on charity shows now (on top of stitching up the queen). Privatise it and give all licence fee payers a share of the proceeds...

    Just look at soho ;)

  • the tour de france was started by a newspaper editor. the yellow jersey is yellow because that paper was printed yellow stock.
same goes to giro d'italia. only that the newspaper was pink, thus the pink jersey.

just can't separate the media from the races. they started it.

  • Sinkewitz has now been banned for eight years. I'd guess that's career over.
