I'm assuming the 1/2 link chain has twice as many pins - therefore twice the risk of dodgy factory pin installation (but it's usually down to slack chaintool work in an lbs or by the user; no offence to lpg and his SRM stats ;-))
For the record, my Izumi super toughness was fucking loud no matter how clean or dirty, and I've had just as good performance from a KMC Z510hx that was about a fifth of the price.
