  • yeah!!

  • Maybe he needs a hand building the bike? We could take tools and be very friendly and offer to help with the headset.

  • The buyer lives a long way away, malheureusement.

  • I had a story like this once:
Sold a complete bike through the ebay, to up North but still in England.
Got the money - spent it.
Two weeks later the guy emailed saying the (boxed)bike still hadn't turned up.
Was a bit sus, waited a few more days until he sent me a really angry email demanding his money back.
Emailed back saying "well mate don't worry, I had the package insured (cost £2.00) so please give me your full name/details so I can forward it to the parcel-force crew.
Emails back the next day, "Oh its just turned-up" - Suddenly.
Insure your valuable ebay shit, Dead-cheap = peice of mind.

  • I think you are covered in the paypal case. He opted for your standard non recorded delivery. You posted it and have proof of postage. If it went missing its his problem for not paying the extra recorded postage with insurance.
Stick to your guns with paypal and they will eventually give you the money IMHO.

  • good point.

it takes a few weeks though.

  • always post stuff recorded.
people are always claiming stuff hasnt arrived because lots of dumb people will just give a refund.

  • you can charge the buyer the fees for recorded delivery anyhoo so it's no sweat of your brow to go the extra mile

  • right, before i start..... merry critical mass everyone... hope it was fun!

right, here is my situation, i sold a phone on Ebay for £49.00 then with the deductions of paypal it ended up at like £47.00 which is fine with me..... the problem lies within me getting my money, the lady sent the money to my account, it appeared in my paypal with a button to "accept payment" which i hesitated no time in doing so!

i just went onto my internet banking to see if i had been payed and it appears i haven't.... this is the first time ive been payed through paypal so i don't really know the system, how does the money go into your account?

    thanks

  • sometimes it isn't *instant, *it quite often goes into your paypal acc.

  • ive set a bank account up with my paypal account so should it just go directly into that account?

it was like a week ago i got payed through it and still isn't in my bank account...

  • Go back into Paypal and make sure it was accepted and you clicked all the right buttons..

  • as i said, most the time the money goes into you paypal account.
and hippy is still a fat fncker :)

  • Go back into Paypal and make sure it was accepted and you clicked all the right buttons..

thats the problem, i don't know if ive hit all the right buttons

  • Login and read what it says then. If it says "£47 not yet received from buyer" or some shit.. bingo!

  • as you can see that was on the 17th..... and its not in my account :S

  • You sure it's not linked to another account? Your credit card or something?

  • its linked to my nationwide account which i just checked online

  • so wait...... paypal is like another account?

money goes into it yeah and then in order to get the money FROM the paypal account (what i see on the screen) into my real account, being my visa card... do i need to "withdraw" money by clicking the withdraw tab?

  • paypal have been fucking me over! i've deleted an old address from both paypal and ebay but it's still in there somewhere. had some forks come from hungary to australia and then back to hungary. fortunately the seller was ace and emailed me when he got the return package.

i contacted paypal and their response was along the lines of "oh, that must've been annoying".

    cunce!

  • paypal is an account.

you** do have the money** if it is in your paypal account . you can spend it - but if you want the cash, you must now 'withdraw' it from pp to your bank account. hit withdraw. this can take a week btw.

    try google checkout in future.

  • ahhhh i think its starting to make sense to me now.

  • Or they might have paid with an e-Cheque. It's paypal's bollocks way of paying if you don't have the funds yet, or your credit/debit card details have expired. It's rubbish because if you're a buyer, paypal doesn't warn you that you're paying with this stupid method, and so you wonder why the seller is taking so fucking long to send your goods. This happened with me - Only realised my debit card details had recently expired and forgot to update them. Would be nice if a site as big as that could give you a warning or something...

  • Has anyone purchased anything from America using paypal, i've spotted something i want to purchase but i don't know how it works, i don't have money stored with paypal as i always transfer it straight into my bank account.
I do have debit cards registered with Paypal but i need to know what kind of charges i'm gonna be slapped accross the face with, any ideas.
