I actually think brooks look kinda ugly and are often out of keeping with the bikes you see them on. I'm in a minority though.
Fizik Arione here, no complaints. Thinking of an Aliante for my new build.

I have a brooks pro and love it, it's worn in beautifully now and gets ridden 25 miles + every day. I was a little hard at first but softened up well - as others have said, I think a lot of it's to do with setting up the height and angle right so that you're sitting on your sitbones.
I used to have a lovely honey brown brooks swift but it was nicked... that'll teach me not to lock up on Old Street on a Friday night...

If you have a squeaky Brooks the trick is to put a little oil on the retensioner/bolt at the nose of the saddle, works a charm. I'm on my 2nd Brooks now and I swear by them

White brooks is lovely. What do they look like when they get old? I love the look of worn in Brooks especially brown and honey but White?
-

the white ones are the ones who pollute the most, as the leather need to be done one by one, instead that for buches, like in the other colors, or something like that.

i don't think that's the case, rik. my limited knowledge of leather tanning tells me that white leather is pale leather with a coating of white on top. the leather itself isn't actually bleached bright white throughout.

I think is has to be with the ink, and the whole leather is soaked on it
that is was Roxy told us regarding the saddles for the Polo Euros...

i'm with teddy. the stussy version is not white all the way through.

meh. i'm sure the ink dyes are still less environmentally significant than manufacturing an all plastic saddle.

anyway the saddle looks very good

white = blue if you're wearing jean.
inevitable on any white saddle really.

How long should I give my Brooks before deciding I don't like it?
I've been riding with it on one of my bikes for about a month and I'm not really getting on with it.
I know they break in and all that, but I feel like it's had enough miles now and I'm in danger of damaging my virility.

Give it 5 more minutes, then sell it to me for a tenner. Brooks' are horrible. ;)
glad the rest of the bikes working out jv - i'd never used that saddle so didnt quite know how bad it was! I dont even recall it having the tensioner? I've got a brooks on my tourer - way comfy...eventually...... I use a fizik arione everyday....suits my sitbones a treat!!
