  • new drugs come on the market all the time, it's like encription it is a constant battle.

  • Gene doping baby! That's where it's at for Beijing! Woo!

  • hippy

Nothing explains how Lance can be SO good and never test positive? On one hand I'd like to believe he was that good but on the other we have the fact that the best who were on drugs STILL couldn't catch him.

"But it's my natural level" they will claim.. what then?

Lance, who knows? Greg Lemond showed that you can win the Tour without.

But on the other hand, why did the Texan Tosser contract Ferrari? Why did he publicly trash Bassons and Simeoni? None of these actions were exactly calculated to dispel rumour.

  • I was in France recently and got talking to a few people about the tour. A lot of them said that they didn't care for it anymore because so many riders were on drugs. I understood what they were saying, i don't blame them. Maybe that's why the tour started in england this year..

I don't think Lance used drugs, though.

  • Lance used politics and economics (and therefore corruption) to monopolize the tour. Plus, riders with more flair did their thing on individual stages, but couldn't be bothered rocking the Postal/Discovery boat, and then have to watch him throw his toys out the pram.

I wish more gobby Italians had entertained us by winding him up...

  • they should be forced to ride on proper drugs.

    like mushrooms and acid.

now that would make for some surprises, and a few things for Phil Liggett to get confused over.

actually, scotch that. Let the riders carry on as normal and force Phil Liggett to take acid!

  • Buffalo Bill But on the other hand, why did the Texan Tosser contract Ferrari?

According to Chris Carmichael, drug charges or not, Ferrari was the best in his field. They always used the best - that's how they secured the wins.

Why did he publicly trash Bassons and Simeoni? None of these actions were exactly calculated to dispel rumour.

I don't know. Who knows what gets mentioned within the peloton. I thought Simeoni was accusing Lance and Lance was defending himself? I don't follow it that much.. too busy posting crap on forums :)

  • scott not scot I'm thinking of using drugs for the dunwich dynamo...based on my poor performance on my training ride today..:)

    I plan to.

After my practice run to Stonehenge I am still looking for a bidon-sized thermos to hold some strong coffee.

Caffeine is a proven ergogenic aid much favoured by tired hippy's!

  • RPM they should be forced to ride on proper drugs.

This is what google comes up with for Phill Liggett on acid:

  • hippy ESB pie is calling my name..

That sounds good. I might try experimenting with a London Porter chili dish...

Of course, alcohol is a drug, but it only seems to increase perceived speed, with more exciting cornering.

I did attempt a bit of off-road night riding in a forest once, whilst tripping on copious amounts of LSD, but I got scared and had to just ride round and round the camp fire instead. The rubber grips felt too squishy, and I thought I could feel the cold metal of the cleats on the soles of my feet. The usual stuff.

  • scott not scot wos 'bidon sized'?....me a bit stoopid!

'bidon' = bottle (perhaps) but specifically the bottles used on bikes. So, I'm after a flask that will fit in normal bicycle bottle holders and keep me coffee warm :)

  • BringMeMyFix [quote]hippy ESB pie is calling my name..

It's great. Drayton Court pub dishes it out and I eat vaste quantities of it.

Riding around a forrest on trips.. fsck that! I'm the nice, safe, responsible, alcoholic country boy type.. no evil forrests for me.

  • It's a Fullers pub so it wouldn't surprise me if they serve the same type of pie in more of their pubs

  • RPM actually, scotch that. Let the riders carry on as normal and force Phil Liggett to take acid!

nah, they already tried it. You just get David Duffield.

you'll want some Belgian mix for the finish line :)

  • Nope, that's for the start line! Party all the way there.. woo!!

  • Wow, they are powering along now. 32mph in the peloton, and stretched sooooo far.

  • Just be careful you don't put any spoilers in.. some of us are gonna watch this when we get home.. maybe create a Stage 3 thread?

  • Spoiler............................... That was awesome.

  • wow. good finish.

  • Yeah I was not sure what was going on in the last few km, could not have bet on that.

  • what channel is it on - eurosport? i think i have eurosport somewhere on satellite...

  • I can't believe I work next to The Mirror sport desk and they don't have it on! *&%££$!!!!

I will be having words tomorrow.
