  • long time lurker and reader, first time poster,
if the weathers good I'm in, haven't built up my fixie yet, frames just arrived from the states, and I've still got to pay customs on it
is my lovely new geared soma allowed? Also got a mate who might be up for it as well
also if I bagsy a bridge does that mean I've got to be first over it?

  • i like that twist on the idea

that would however, mean that i would have to be first up primrose hill at 4 in the morning after the whole ride :S

  • I figured if you bagsied a bridge you had to collect it up on the way over and ride with it in your bag, hence the reason I was gonna bagsie Kew Bridge...

  • bbc 5 day

looks like the weather will be ok, cool!! finally ...

so are we going to meet in the south or north side of Tower Bridge???

please someone bring a map that covers all the bridges, just in case

  • im down.....tower bridge is mine!!!!

  • What time you guys aiming at starting this ride?

I'm sorta new to this but would like to tag along :) just cuz the bridges route sound so cool and i woud love to see a bunch of fixies/singlespeed hang out together ^_^

  • its going to start at around 12 midnight.....i think....

  • count me tentatively in....depends if the bruised ribs are sorted out in time......bloody cab...even if he was apologetic about it!!

  • MA3K Here is the proposed route again for your elucidation: Saturday Night Ride 14th July - The Bridges(Finaly)

I suggest a south of Tower Bridge assembly pub this time.

MA3K's route looks good, so how's about assembling at the Anchor Tap

Sam Smiths pub so cheap, and a big outside courtyard bit for bike parking/guarding, what do people reckon?

  • please not there, i spent many afternoon brakes in that hole!!! and it'll be hard to group in those tight alleys.
maybe go to whatever pib and meet somewhere large like in front of ken's office or something?

  • theres some nice pubs at tooley st, south side of the bridge..

lets meet there by 2300 , drink a bit and go go go

looks like the weather will be fine, about 20 people ...will be nice

  • I'll be up for this if I can just a get a back wheel sorted out in time...

  • lpg is in too, aren't you ?

  • he'll be there with his bike rack !

  • dam dam dam I can't do this w/e. Enjoy the river.

  • How fast do you guys go? (on your bikes, I mean)

I'd like to get some night training in for Dunwich, and this sounds good, but I'm new to fixie riding, I think I'm overgeared, and I'd rather not be left bonked in the badlands.

I'm hoping something faster than an sunday afternoon canalside amble, yet slow enough that we don't all form a line and share the work in the front. Does this sound about right?

  • I think you would be alright, any way I would not worry about beeing in the "badlands" it is going through central London and then out to kew, not exactly ghetto!
