I have a 10 inch long scar running from waist to groin, which I ain't taking pictures of my rude bits!
from an mtb accident where I got a massive haematoma.
7 nights in hospital
3 blood transfusions
operation to remove 1 1/2 litres of congealed blood
2 drain tubes in my side for 5 days attached to two bottles
left leg swelled to twice normal size
groin, lower back and legs solidly purple with bruising
cant remember how many stitches6 weeks off work (I took 3) unpaid, uninsured.
2 follow up clinics
permanently numb left flank ( the bit on the upper thigh/hip) For the rest of my life.
I don't subscribe to the "scars are cool" thing any more, sorry.

i had two 3 inch by 1cm holes in my shin where a trial bike pedal
decided to have a go.
they went right down to the bone and i shat my pants especially because i didnt feel any pain at first.
bits of flesh were hanging out it was grimey.
will get a pic of the scars later.
after the nurse had steristripped the sides of the wound together and they started to bond after a couple of weeks or however long it was my brother kicked my shin in temper and opened them back up.

You'd think scars were cool if you'd ever lived through self-harming with a kitchen utensil under the influence of alcohol, instead of some pissy little mtb accident :-p

two broken neck vertebrae
i.e a broken neck
courtesy of 20 pints of beer
and a stationary parked car
what amazes me
is that I managed to ride from Finsbury Park
to the Edgware road
before I hit something
I had been drinking for twelve hours straight
so even if I don't win on the damage done front
I must win on the all out gross stupidity stakes
oh and i never bothered to go to hospital until three months later
when my hands clawed up due to nerve damage
incidently it took me another ten years
before it dawned on me
that alcohol and being a mentalist
don't really mix
I am still a mentalist
but I tend to steer away from drinking

i just mean giving yourself scars doesn't make it cool. i believe you.
my accidents :
box of wine bottles fell on my legs in sainsburys (scars)
broke my leg when a lamppost (honest) fell on it in camden town, i was about 9
broke a bone in my neck which left it unable to turn for a week or so
crashed into a taxi 2 years ago which kind of fucked up my collar/shoulder bone, so it's a bit out of placethats it!

Just read on MT that Bill wants to see our scars. Well I guess this is the place to start. Patrick, Sebastian and myself got very drunk a fortnight ago and thought it would be a great idea to brand ourselves witha bottle opener.....
