I could say similar of SPDs though which I am still hesitant to move away from.
A year or two of road racing (then moved to SPD-SLs), track racing (no good for standing starts though unless tension is way up and you can keep your feet straight), training, 2hrs daily commuting, 4 months of cycle touring over here, mountain bike racing.. and I'm still using them on the Raleigh here for commuting and stuff.
I have the original cleats that I fitted to my $50AUD Nikes 8+ years ago.
This is probably why I find it hard to justify moving to ATACs or something different. "If it ain't broke.. "
