I think the brackets are crap too, I just carry the lock in my bag.
I have the NY3000, I pulled off the silver mount bracket, makes the lock look better and is one less thing to do-in your paint job. It was easy to do, like your meant to be able to do it.
Can you move the silver bit off the Evo Mini? looks like an allen key hole on it. But in the open pic, I see the shackle has a wider ring on it, so it couldn't slide off.
Does that make sense?
P.S. The anti theft offer is pure crap, When I read the small print on mine it made no sense. You need to return the bust lock to get it or something and no thieving git will leave that, as evidence.
