just gone back to clipless today, as I got given some crank bros things, they are crazy loose but I can still skid in them (and in my pants) it's really the shoe that gives you all the extra power, I'd rather have £30 time atacs and a £70 racing mtb shoe than cheap shoes and pricey pedals.
it all wears out at the end of t'day, if i had a choice I'd go for the Times and whatever shoes fit you well and have a stiff sole.
Toe clips were hurting my feet, but I'll still pop them on from time to time..
